At eight o’clock I sat down in my seat
To hear a lecture about diabete.
Then some reproduction and some pharm,
The material was dense, to my alarm.
In the middle of a talk about placenta
I got a little sleepy so I spent a
Half hour in the library, stretched out
I dozed off, with my coat all wrapped about.
A half hour later I woke up with drool
Wiped it off with my coat, went back to school.
In the afternoon we learned some other stuff
It’s foggy because listening was tough.
I ate an apple and a hummus wrap,
While I thought about my luscious morning nap.
At five thirty I was finally free,
And now I’m home with books splayed all ‘round me.
Why isn’t any of my homework read?
Because I’m writing poetry instead.
